BasicRequirements

Before submitting an application, please make sure you meet the academic requirements for pursuing a Carlson MBA:

  • Bachelor's degree, in any major, from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States, or a comparable foreign degree from a recognized college or university.

  • GMAT results (preferably within the last 5 years; Carlson code: D2N-VJ-15)

  • If English is not your first language, you must submit scores from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam. Scores must be less than 2 years old when you apply.

  • Two years of full-time work experience at the time you would start the program.

With the online application, you can save your work and return to it any time. You can also submit supporting materials and the application fee online. Schools will send transcripts directly to us, and the testing service will send us an official GMAT score report.

The first time you use the online application, you will need to create a guest profile for the University of Minnesota system. Be sure to remember your login and password because you can save your work in the online application and return to it any time. The online application requires you to provide general information about yourself and your current employer. Instructions are included throughout the online application; you should be able to complete most of it without additional reference.

PaperApplication

You can download the application and instructions from our website any time. After you complete the form, return it to our office with your essays, resume, and application fee. You can either include transcripts and recommendations with your application or have them sent directly to us. You can also direct recommenders to the printable version of the recommendation form online. The testing service will send us an official GMAT score report.
